You will need:- - White air drying clay - Paint |
Take a block of clay (approx 300g) and cut it into 3 pieces. Roll each piece into a nice long worm, not too fat, about 35cm long. |
Join one set of ends together by pinching the pieces, use a drop of water if the clay is getting dry. Plait the 3 pieces, securely, but gently so they don't break. |
When you get to the end, overlap the 2 ends together to form a join. Use a little water to help 'glue' them together. |
Make decorations with waste clay: butterflies, bugs, hearts, bows. These need to be secured by scoring both sides & join by 'gluing' with water. |
You can now paint your wreath. Note: Clay can be painted whilst it is still wet, but paint cannot be layered on itself whilst it's still wet. |
| Many thanks to Liz Wensley for this project. |
